1Who we are

1.1Ownery Limited (NZBN 9429052828102) is a Christchurch company that makes handover guides for residential developments. This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information, in line with the Privacy Act 2020.

2What we collect

2.1From you, when you use our website or order: your name, company, business email, phone number, project details, delivery details and any notes you send us.

2.2From developers, for an order: plans, specifications and product details for each home, and sometimes the names of buyers, settlement dates and contact details of nominated trades.

2.3From agents in our referral programme: name, agency, contact details and the developers you introduce.

2.4About website visits: basic, anonymous usage information such as pages viewed and device type, collected through analytics cookies.

2.5We never see or store card numbers. Card payments are handled by Stripe.

3How we use it

3.1To give you pricing, process and deliver your order, and contact you about it.

3.2To prepare each book, including reusing general product and care information (never personal information) in later books.

3.3To pay agent referral fees, keep accounts and meet our tax obligations.

3.4To send occasional updates about Ownery. You can opt out at any time by replying or using the unsubscribe link.

3.5To improve our website and service.

4Who we share it with

4.1We share personal information only as needed to run our business, with providers who handle it on our behalf: Stripe (payments), Make (automation), Airtable (order records), Dropbox (file storage), Google Workspace (email), Formspree (website forms), Framer (website hosting), Anthropic (reading uploaded documents to prepare your book), Xero (accounts), and our printers and couriers.

4.2We may also share information with our professional advisers, or where the law requires it.

4.3We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for anyone else's marketing.

5Storage overseas

5.1Some of our providers store or process information outside New Zealand, including in Australia, the United States and Europe. We choose providers with strong security and privacy commitments, and we only share what each one needs for its job.

6Keeping it secure

6.1We use reputable providers with encrypted connections and access controls, protect our accounts with strong passwords and two-factor sign-in, and limit access to the people who need it.

6.2If a privacy breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will tell the people affected and the Privacy Commissioner, as the law requires.

7How long we keep it

7.1We keep order records for seven years to meet tax requirements. We delete uploaded plans and buyer details when they are no longer needed for your order, reprints or warranty questions, unless you ask us to delete them sooner where we're able to.

8Your rights

8.1You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. Email hello@ownery.co.nz and we will respond within 20 working days.

8.2If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

9Changes

9.1We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page.
